DENTON, Texas (April 11, 2018) - Head Coach
Lisa Bowerman has signed Natalie Payne to Texas Woman's University Gymnastics, as announced Thursday.
Â
"I am thrilled to welcome Natalie to our Pioneer Gymnastics family," said Bowerman. "Natalie is a powerful gymnast who will make an immediate competitive impact in her freshman year. She is a great fit for our team and will no doubt contribute to the ongoing success of our program."
Â
Payne will be joining the Pioneers from Winter Park, Florida, where she most recently notched Level 10 first place honors on beam in her home state and second on floor. A three-time Level 10 qualifier, Payne nabbed second place on floor in 2017, and took home the title on beam in 2015 along with a third-place finish in all-around and floor.
Â
In 2016, Payne also recorded top honors on beam as well as second on floor and fourth on bars. At Winter Park High School, Payne was a member of the National Honor Society.
Â
"I chose Texas Woman's because of the success of the gymnastics program and the encouragement the team gives each other. I'm excited to be a part of it," stated Payne.
Â
Payne joins Ellie Ambs, Sadie Bish, Domi Bonzagni and Isabel Goyco in the 2018 signing class.
