DALLAS, Texas (Nov. 12, 2023) – For the first time since the 2019 season, the Texas Woman's volleyball team is headed to the Lone Star Conference Championship. 

In the regular season, the Pioneers finished LSC play with an 11-5 record – their most wins in conference action since 2019. TWU will be dancing in the postseason as the seventh seed.
 
The 2023 LSC Championships will begin on Thursday, Nov. 12. The entirety of the Championship will be hosted by the No. 1 seed in the tournament Dallas Baptist.
 
TWU will face the No. 2 seed West Texas A&M in the opening round of the championship on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 2:30 p.m.
 
The opening round will begin with the No. 3 seed Angelo State meeting the No. 6 seed UT Tyler at noon on Thursday. The Pioneers will follow. Then, the second session of the opening round will begin at 5 p.m. with No. 1 DBU playing No. 8 Texas A&M International. Finally, No. 4 UAFS will play No. 5 Texas A&M – Kingsville in the final match of the opening day at 7:30 p.m.
 
The winner between WT and TWU will meet the winner of the Angelo State and UT Tyler at 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17 in the LSC Championship Semifinals.
 
The LSC Championship Title Game will be played on Saturday, Nov. 18 at a to be announced time.
 
Overall, the Pioneers have played in the LSC Tournament for the 23 times. TWU has advanced to the title game three times – last time in 2017. In 2019, the Pioneers' last LSC Tournament appeared, TWU fell in the semifinal round.
