OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma (March 4, 2023) – Texas Woman's STUNT hits weekend goal with a win over Missouri Baptist on Friday, March 3.
 
On the road this weekend the Pioneers recorded an impressive win in their first competition of the OCU tournament.
 
In their first matchup with a final score 15-13, the Pioneers defeated Missouri Baptist, bringing their season record to 3-5. The Pioneers ended Friday night 24-0 in a fall to Oklahoma Baptist.
 
On Saturday, March 4 the Pioneers battled St. Mary's and registered six points to end the tournament 18-6, St. Mary's.
 
"Our goal for the weekend was to get points on the board in all four quarters," said Head Coach Jasmine Owens. "We accomplished that, plus a win!"
 
Leading the Pioneers in points earned was Kara Abram and Kaitlin Abanto, who both recorded 14 points against Missouri Baptist Friday night.
 
"I'm looking forward to reviewing our team technique to gear up for rematches we have scheduled later this season against the Spartans and the Rattlers," said Head Coach Owens.
 
The Pioneers will host UT Tyler on Friday, March 10 in Kitty Magee Arena and will be celebrating seniors Lauren Murphy and Ashley Marangakis.
