Sophomore Kristie Costa (pictured) has been selected as the TWU Gymnastics Pioneer of the Week (P.O.W.) for the week of Oct. 18-24, 2008. Costa is a native of Flower Mound, Texas and a product of The Colony Gymnastics Academy.

Costa has had an outstanding off season for the Pioneers. TWU head coach Frank Kudlac says her increased work ethic is the reason why.

"Kristie has emerged as one of our hardest workers in the gym. Her improvement and her consistency over the last few months have been remarkable," he explained.

Costa is also stepping up her performance in the classroom.

"We just received our midterm grade reports and the feedback on Kristie was very positive. I'm extremely proud of her," said Kudlac.
