Senior Tonya Pipkorn (pictured) has been selected as the TWU Gymnastics Pioneer of the Week (P.O.W.) for the week of Nov. 15-21, 2008. Pipkorn is a native of Denton, Texas and a product of Achiever's Gymnastics.

Pipkorn earned the P.O.W. title because, according to head coach Frank Kudlac, she is constantly challenging herself to get better.

"What I like about Tonya this year is that she is really pushing herself harder than she has in the past," he explained. "The first three years of her career have been outstanding, but she wants to make an even bigger contribution in this her senior season. That type of hungry attitude will hopefully rub off on her teammates."
