ADA, Okla. (Nov. 24) – TWU junior guard
Kenesha Saygo scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Pioneers to a 53-46 road win at East Central Tuesday night. With the win TWU improved to 3-2 on the season.

The Pioneers led 24-14 before ECU closed out the quarter on a 6-0 run to cut the deficit to four points at the break.
The Tigers carried their momentum into the third quarter and scored seven straight points to go on top 27-24. TWU regrouped and scored four straight points to regain the lead 28-27. Both teams traded points the rest of the quarter and the score was tied at 35-35 after three quarters.
The Pioneers opened the fourth quarter on a 6-0 run to take a 41-35 lead but a 6-2 run by ECU cut their deficit to two points, 43-41, with 2:36 left in the game. Saygo took over from that point and single-handedly outscored the Tigers 10-5 in the final two minutes to seal the win for TWU.
"We did a good job getting defensive stops down the stretch," said TWU head coach
Beth Jillson. "Saygo stepped up and made some clutch shots at the end to close out the game. This is a big road win after couple of tough loses at home over the weekend."
The Pioneers outscored ECU 28-20 in the paint and outrebounded them 44-32.
TWU will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 28 when they host Henderson State at 2:00 p.m. in Kitty Magee Arena. Admission is free on Saturday but fans are encouraged to bring canned goods to donate to Food Drive.
