Erin Maxwell scored a game-high 22 points but it wasn't enough as the Pioneers dropped the exhibition game at North Texas, 69-59.

Kara Mitchell also reached double digits with 11 and 10 points respectively. Pointer also had six rebounds and three steals.
Playing in a new four-quarter format, TWU trailed 13-8 after the first quarter and 34-28 at the half. Both teams scored 10 points each in the third quarter but UNT outscored the Pioneers, 25-21, in the fourth quarter for a 10-point win.
TWU shot 36.4 percent from the floor including 37.5 percent in the first half and 35.5 percent in the second half. The Mean Green hit 47.5 percent of their shots including 35.7 percent of their shots from the 3-point range.
The Pioneers will open their 2015-16 regular season at Ashbrook Classic hosted by Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, TX, on Nov. 13-14. TWU will face St. Mary's in the opener on Nov. 13 at 6:00 p.m. in D.L. Ligon Coliseum and then take on Rogers State on Nov. 14 at 5:00 p.m.
