TWU suffered a 3-1 setback Sunday at home against Angelo State after defeating UT Permian Basin 3-0 Friday. Freshman midfielder Jazmine Navarro ranks second in the Lone Star Conference in assists with five, while senior midfielder Chelsea Martin has two game-winning goals on the year to sit second in the league and leads the Pioneers with four goals to rank fourth in the LSC.

The Lions have won three straight and four of the past five contests. Sophie Haywood ranks second in the LSC in goals with six and Sabrina Munguia is right behind her with five. Jessika Coronado has tallied four assists to sit third in the league, while Haywood's three game-winning goals is the top number in the LSC. Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year Caitlin Duty's .723 goals against average is the best in the conference.
 
History between TWU and TAMUC
The Lions hold a sizable series advantage over the Pioneers at 17-2 dating to 2002. The outcome between the two teams has also ended in a tie during six of the 24 overall meetings. TAMUC won the first matchup this season, a 3-2 Lion victory in Commerce Sept. 27.
