Tylia Sylestine laced a home run to right center in the first inning for an early 1-0 TWU advantage. In the third, Cheyenne Mahy tallied her first homer as a Pioneer to score another two runs and a 3-0 lead.

Jordan Kisselburg, Erin Mosely, and Lindy Kennedy each tallied an RBI single for a trio of scores and a 6-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded in the sixth, Sylestine took a walk for another run. A single up the middle by Mahy brought Kenzie Wilson around for the eighth run of the game.

Kisselburg singled to right field in the first to bring home Sylestine and Kennedy for a 2-0 Pioneer advantage. A TWU throwing error in the bottom of the second allowed the only WNMU (1-18, 0-8 LSC) run of the day.

Sylestine recorded her second home run of the day for a 3-1 lead, and Kisselburg followed suit with one of her own to put the Pioneers up, 5-1. Tara Solomon doubled to left field for a pair of scores and a 7-1 TWU lead.

The Pioneers added a trio of runs in the fourth to go up 10-1, and doubles by Hazel Puempel and Kisselburg completed the 12-1 victory.

Mahy (4-1) took the win with four strikeouts.

Head Coach Genny Stidham said, "We hit and pitched very well today. Our defense was extremely rusty from lack of practice on the field."

The Pioneers face the Mustangs again tomorrow in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. CST.
