Trixie Oche turned in a nine-kill performance while
Lizzy Reed dished out 14 assists and had a team-best nine digs, but the Texas Woman's University volleyball team (7-10, 3-4 Lone Star Conference) dropped a 3-0 decision to Texas A&M-Kingsville (9-2, 4-2 Lone Star Conference) on Friday at the Steinke Center.
The Javelinas won the sets by scores of 25-17, 25-14, and 25-23.
In the third set, TWU led through the opening points, but the Javelinas erased a 16-14 TWU advantage after scoring fivestraight points, and the Javelinas would not trail again in the decisive set.
Oche led TWU with a team-best .316 hitting percentage, leading the Pioneers to a .074 hitting percentage for the match. The Pioneers were even with TAMUK in aces with five apiece, while the Javelinas edged TWU with a 6-5 advantage in blocks.
The Pioneers conclude their road swing with a 1 p.m. Saturday matchup at Texas A&M International.
