DENTON, Texas - The Texas Woman's University soccer team (1-1-0, 1-0-0 Lone Star Conference) was unable to overcome the high-pressure offensive attack of Dallas Baptist (4-0-0, 2-0-0), dropping a 5-0 contest to the Patriots in a non-conference matchup on Saturday night at the Pioneer Soccer Park.
DBU put its first goal on the board in the fifth minute of play, and added three more to surge to a 4-0 advantage at the half, and then tacked on its fifth goal in the 68th minute.
The Patriots pressured the TWU defense to the tune of 18 shots, with 12 of those shots coming on goal.
The Pioneers were held to two shots on goal, the first coming in the 45th minute off the foot of
Keely Chapman and the second in the 88th minute by
Abigail Martinez.
The Pioneers will return to action on Wednesday, march 10, facing Texas A&M-Commerce at the Pioneer Soccer Park. A 6 p.m. kick is scheduled.
