 IT'S THE HOLIDAY SEASON
  • WINNING WONDERLAND: The Pioneers have met the Mustangs three times in Silver City, New Mexico. In those three meetings, TWU has never lost in Silver City. The last time they played the Mustangs on the road, in 2019, the Pioneers won, 76-58. Last season, the two teams met in Denton, Texas, and TWU defeated the Mustangs, 53-35. In that game, Scout Huffman led the Pioneers with 19 points and Keslyn King added 10 points.
  • DECK THE HALLS MAROON: The Pioneers have been doing the little things, making the hustle plays, which have led them to win close games. Against Eastern New Mexico, the Pioneers grabbed 11 offensive rebounds, with Huffman, Ariyanna Hines and Grace Lowery each recording two offensive boards. Hines also worked to set the Pioneers up for success, finishing the game with four assists. Brielle Woods grabbed two steals to lock down on defense. Even more so, the Pioneers created deflections and made defensive stops not reflected on the stat sheet. Everyone on the roster will look to impact the game tonight to lead the Pioneers to their ninth win of the season.
  • GREATEST TIME OF YEAR: In their past two losses, the Mustangs have been held to less than 60 points. Against UT Tyler, WNMU scored 10 or fewer points in three of the four quarters. They also held UT Tyler to less than 10 points in two quarters. Tonight, the Pioneers will look to limit the scoring of the Mustangs. On the other side, they will look to defeat the defense of the Mustangs and attack the offensive end. Ashley Ingram and Sadie Moyer currently lead the Pioneers in points per game. Ingram averages 14.3 points per game and Moyer averages 13.1 points per game.
