RING IN THE NEW YEAR
  • FINAL COUNTDOWN: Friday's game marks the Pioneers' final game of 2022. To start this 2022-23 season, TWU has only lost one game. Through four LSC games, they are undefeated in conference action. Furthermore, they have not lost a game on the road this season. The Pioneers have been playing well and have shown they can overcome obstacles and find ways to win. They will need to maintain the same fight against the Lions on Friday. In just two matchups previously, the Pioneers have never lost to UAFS. Last season, TWU defeated the Lions on the road and at home. In their last meeting in Fort Smith, the Pioneers won 74-38, holding the Lions scoreless through an entire quarter of action. TWU will look to bring the same defensive energy on Friday afternoon.
  • 2023: In their last game on Dec. 19, the Lions shot 20% from the three point line and turned the ball over 23 times. Additionally, they committed 17 fouls in the loss to Oklahoma Christian. The Pioneers will look to force UAFS into difficult shots, play solid defense and attack the rim on Friday.
  • BRING THE CONFETTI: The Pioneers have recorded six games this season with 10 or more assists. The most assists this season for TWU was 17 in their 22-point win over Cameron on Dec. 3. In all but three games, the Pioneers have also grabbed 10 or more offensive boards. When TWU attacks the glass and shares the basketball, they are successful.
