TRIPLE THREAT
  • SECOND CHANCE: In their last game against Angelo State, TAMIU was outrebounded 49-24. Of their 49 rebounds, 19 were offensive rebounds, which allowed Angelo State to score 18 second-chance points. The Pioneers will need to crash the glass and get second chance opportunities to get the edge over the Dustdevils on Thursday night. TWU averages 36.4 rebounds per game, so they should have the advantage on the glass.
  • PROTECT THE ROCK: TWU averages 15.1 turnovers per game, so they will need to protect the basketball against the Dustdevils. The Pioneers will also want to force TAMIU to turn over the ball. TAMIU averages 23.7 turnovers per game, and the Pioneers average 16.9 points off turnovers per game, which could prove to be a difference-maker in the game on Thursday night.
  • BIG QUARTERS: Against Midwestern State, the Pioneers had three 20 or more point quarters, which led to a 20-point win over the Mustangs. To help lead them to big quarters, TWU will need multiple scoring threats to step up. Against Western New Mexico, three different Pioneers scored in double figures—Scout Huffman, Kayla Glover and Keslyn King
