DENTON, Texas (Oct. 1, 2022) – Saturday's are for TWU soccer game days at Pioneer Soccer Park.

TWU (1-6-3, 1-2-2) lost to Dallas Baptist on the road on Wednesday night. On Saturday at 1 p.m., the Pioneers will be back at home in Denton to play UT Permian Basin (3-4-1, 1-3).

UTPB most recently defeated No. 25 Angelo State at home on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2-1.

• On Saturday, the Pioneers will be celebrating senior Morgan Sherman, Hispanic Heritage Month. After the game, the Pioneers will also offer a FREE kids clinic. Sign-ups for the clinic will be located at the entrance to Pioneer Soccer Park.

 WIN = THREE POINTS

• A LOOK AT LAST YEAR: When the Falcons and the Pioneers met in 2021, TWU won the match on the road 2-0. The Pioneers have not played UTPB in Denton since 2018, when TWU won 2-1. The Pioneers are currently 7-1 all-time against the Falcons, and they have not lost since 2016. TWU will look to continue the winning ways against UTPB.
• PROTECT THE NET: The Falcons have scored 10 goals on the season, half of their goals have been scored by Kaylee Overmeyer. TWU will look to limit the attacks of Overmeyer and provide pressure on the defensive end to thwart the Falcons attacks.
• LSC LOOK: With the Pioneers about halfway through their conference play in 2022, they currently sit in sixth place in the conference, just behind UT Tyler. UTPB is currently in 11th place. While the competition is tight in the LSC, a result on Saturday would help the Pioneers move up in the rankings.
