AUSTIN, Texas (Jan. 13, 2024) – The Texas Woman's basketball team concludes their Lone Star Conference road trip with a game against St. Edward's on Saturday at 1 p.m.
TWU (13-3, 7-1) will meet SEU (5-8, 2-5) in their ninth LSC game of the season.
Most recently, the Pioneers defeated St. Mary's on the road on Thursday, Jan. 11, 76-63.
Ashley Ingram led TWU with 21 points and went 13-13 from the free throw line.
Leila Patel finished with 18, and
Averee Kleinhans wrapped up the double-digit scoring for the Pioneers with 12.
For the Hilltoppers, they met UT Tyler on Thursday, Jan. 11 and fell 63-51. Two Hilltoppers scored in double-digits in the loss – No. 11 Jayda Ruffus-Milner and No. 1 Janiah Perkins both finished with 11 points.

- HISTORY WITH THE HILLTOPPERS: TWU and SEU have met 15 times, and the Pioneers have won 10 of those meetings. TWU has won the last five meetings between the two teams. On the road, the Pioneers are 4-3 all time. The two teams met three times during the 2022-23 season – twice in the regular season and once in the LSC Championships. When the Pioneers played SEU in Austin, Texas last season on Feb. 6, 2023, TWU won 70-51 and three Pioneers scored in double-digits. Ingram led with 20 points and 14 rebounds.
- PAINT PRESENCE: The Pioneers are a strong team in the painted area. In their win over STMU, TWU scored 38 points in the paint and only allowed 22. On the other side, SEU allowed UT Tyler to score 36 points in the paint and scored 28 in their loss. For TWU, utilizing their strength near the basket will be key, while also being able to pass out to mid-range and three point opportunities. The Pioneers shot 50% from the field on Thursday and 35.7% from the three points line.
- STRONG STARTS: Prior to going on the road trip, TWU had back-to-back games with 20 or more points scored in the first quarter. Additionally, they held their opponents to less than 10 points a quarter in both of those games. Against STMU, they hit the 20-plus mark in the second quarter. Against UT Tyler, SEU had a nine point quarter and scored just 10 points in the opening quarter of action. Starting off strong will be key in Saturday's game.
