TRIPLE THREAT
- OFFENSE & DEFENSE: Despite scoring just 47 points in their loss on Thursday, TAMIU currently ranks first in Lone Star Conference in scoring and fifth in NCAA Division II, averaging 82.3 points per game. The Dustdevils average 43% from the field and 33% from the three. The Pioneers rank fourth in the LSC in scoring, finishing games with 72 points on average. The winning recipe will be the defense for TWU. TAMIU ranks 15th in the LSC in opponent points per game, meaning they allow the second most points from their opponent in the conference. TWU, on the other hand, ranks third in scoring defense, only allowing their opponents to score 60.4 points on average. The Pioneers also shoot at a higher efficiency than the Dustdevils, as they rank first in the LSC in field goal percentage (45%).
- EFFECIENCY IS KEY: Tomorrow afternoon, the one and two top individual field goal percentage players in the LSC will meet. Ashley Ingram ranks first in the LSC and fourth in the NCAA Division II, shooting 62.66% from the field. From TAMIU, senior No. 44 Raiana Brown ranks second in the LSC and 23rd in the NCAA Division II with a 56% field percentage. Look for both of these players to be key in Saturday's match-up.
- MEETING NO. 10: Tomorrow will mark the 10th meeting between TWU and TAMIU, of which the Pioneers have won six. The Pioneers are currently on a two-game win streak against the Dustdevils. In their last meeting, TWU met TAMIU in Denton, Texas and won the meeting 71-57. In the win, four Pioneers scored in double figures.
