DALLAS (Nov. 16, 2025) - Texas Woman's soccer went stride for stride with the nation's top-ranked team on Sunday afternoon, but a late goal lifted No. 1 DBU past TWU, 3–2, in the Lone Star Conference Championship match at Patriot Soccer Field.
The Pioneers erased two separate deficits behind a brace from junior forward Giselle Gutierrez, but DBU found the match-winner in the 89th minute to deny TWU its first conference title.
Despite the result, TWU's performance capped a history-making postseason run and solidified the program as a rising contender heading into NCAA Regional play. Gutierrez, Alyssa Striker, and Bri Luna were all named to the LSC All-Tournament Team.
