PITTSBURG, Kansas (Nov. 24, 2025) – During Thanksgiving week, the No. 6 Texas Woman's basketball team heads on the road to face No. 2 Pittsburg State.
TWU (4-1) will continue their non-conference slate on the road, as they meet the undefeated Pittsburg State (3-0). It will mark the Pioneers second ranked match-up of the season and first Top 10 match-up.

TOP 10 TUESDAY
- HISTORY WITH THE GORILLAS: TWU meets Pittsburg State for just the second time in program history. The only time the Pioneers have met the Gorillas previously was during the 2009-10 season. TWU claimed the win 71-69 at home.
- A LOOK AT PITTSBURG STATE: The Gorillas are 3-0 to start the 2025-26 season. They have not played at home yet, so tomorrow night will mark their home opener. They won each meeting by a margin of four or less points. In their opening game against Northern State in Kearney, Nebraska, they won by two points, 72-70, in overtime. The Gorillas are averaging 74 points per game and allowing 70.7 points per game. From the field, they are shooting 42.4%, while they are also shooting 31.1% from the three point line. - A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: The Pioneers are 4-1 on the season and 2-0 on the road. They last played on the road on Nov. 14 and 15 in Colorado, where they won two games by a margin of 18 points. Most recently, they played at home against Southern Nazarene, who they defeated 78-44. They are averaging 71.6 points per game and only allowing their opponents to score 59.8 points per game. TWU averages 46.6% from the field. They force 18.4 turnovers per game, and they average 15.6 turnovers. TWU also scores 18 points per game off turnovers.
