DENTON, Texas (Dec. 15, 2025) – Ahead of the holiday break next week, the Texas Woman's basketball team gears up for two home contests in Kitty Magee Arena.
No. 4 TWU (7-1, 2-0) will play their final Lone Star Conference contest of 2025 on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m., as the Pioneers host St. Mary's (7-0, 2-0), who is receiving votes in the WBCA National Poll.
Then, the Pioneers will play their final nonconference regular season game on Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. against Dallas Christian (4-4).
TWU is currently on a six-game win streak. They are 2-1 at home and have not played in KMA since Nov. 19.
WINNING WONDERLAND
- On Tuesday night, the Pioneers are hosting Denton ISD Night. All Denton ISD students and families get in free with a DISD ID or by wearing school gear. Doors to KMA open at 5 p.m.

2025 FINALES
- A LOOK AT THE RATTLERS: StMU has started out the season undefeated with a key overtime win against Washburn, who is receiving votes in the national poll. They opened the LSC slate with two home wins against Western New Mexico and Sul Ross State. The Rattlers have played just two games on the road this season. StMU currently ranks No. 2 in the LSC in defense, holding teams to just 54.7 points per game. They also rank first in in the LSC and ninth in NCAA Division II in opponent field goal percentage, holding opponents to shooting 32% from the field. The Rattlers are strong on the boards with 40.1 team rebounds per game, which ranks third in the LSC. On their way to seven wins, StMU has won close games with five of their seven wins by a margin of six or less points.
- A LOOK AT THE CRUSADERS: Dallas Christian, who plays in the NCCAA, is currently 4-4 on the season. They are averaging 64.6 points per game on 35.8% shooting from the field and 22.7% from the three point line. The Crusaders are getting out-rebounded by a margin of 4.5, and they are giving up 21.3 turnovers per game. Their wins came against Southeastern Baptist (twice), Manhattan Christian and Kansas Christian. They are currently on a four-game losing streak, and they are 0-2 on the road.
- A LOOK AT HISTORY: TWU and StMU have met 28 times, and the Pioneers own the all-time record 16-12. TWU has won the last eight meetings, and, at home, they are 8-4, while being 8-1 in conference action. The two teams last met on Feb. 8, 2025. The Pioneers won the meeting, 58-45, on the road in San Antonio, Texas. This will be the first meeting between TWU and Dallas Christian.
- PIONEERS IN THE LSC: TWU ranks third in scoring in the LSC, averaging 71 points per game. They rank fourth in defense, holding opponents to 57.1 points per game. On average, the Pioneers are defeating their opponents by 13.9 points, which ranks second in the LSC. TWU's leads the LSC in team field goal percentage with a 47% from the field – a mark which ranks 10th in NCAA Division II. The Pioneers also top the LSC leaderboard in free throw percentage, shooting 78.9% from the charity stripe.
