TWU SHUTS OUT NO. 16 OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN IN SENIOR DAY FINALE

DENTON, Texas (April 27, 2025) –  The Texas Woman's University softball team ended their 2025 season on a high note with a shutout victory over No. 16 Oklahoma Christian in game two, winning 4-0 on Senior Day. TWU (21-29, 17-27) dropped a thrilling 8-5 decision in game one against OC (36-18, 29-15) but bounced back strong to close out the day with a win.

After a slow start by both squads in game one, Oklahoma Christian jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning. TWU answered with a run to get on the board, but the Eagles seized control and built a six-run advantage heading into the bottom of the seventh, leading 8-2. The Pioneers sparked a late comeback attempt with a rally at the plate, but it wasn't enough as OC held on to take the opener.

In game two, the Pioneers were determined to finish Senior Day on a high note. After Vivica Hernandez crossed the plate for the first run, Malarie Medina launched a two-run home run to give TWU early momentum. An RBI single up the middle in the fourth inning sealed the 4-0 shutout, allowing the Pioneers to celebrate the season finale in style.
