DENTON (Nov. 3, 2026) - Texas Woman's Soccer earned their 16th shutout of the season Monday night, playing to a 0-0 draw through double overtime against the UT Dallas Comets at Pioneer Soccer Park.
While the match officially goes into the books as a tie on TWU's record, UT Dallas advanced to the Lone Star Conference Championship semifinals after prevailing 3-1 in a penalty kick shootout.
The Pioneers held a commanding defensive line throughout 110 minutes of play, limiting UT Dallas to four total shots and just one on target, which goalkeeper Faith Graves safely collected. TWU drove the attack at the other end, generating 20 shots with 10 on goal.

FROM HEAD COACH BABAK ABOUZAR
"Disappointed with the result, but the team came out with tremendous effort," head coach Babak Abouzar said. "When a team plays you in a low block, you have to find ways to break it down. We struggled breaking them down in the attacking third and putting the ball in the back of the net. With that being said, our defensive effort never wavered and we were able to get another clean sheet. We will learn from this and get ready for the NCAA tournament."

TWU now turns their attention to the NCAA Regionals. The Pioneers will gather for Monday's NCAA Selection Show watch party at 6 p.m. on the third floor of Pioneer Hall, prior to the TWU basketball season opener in Kitty Magee Arena. Doors open 30 minutes before the show.
