DENTON, Texas (Feb. 16, 2026) – The Texas Woman's basketball team goes on the road this week with two Lone Star Conference games.
No. 2 TWU will meet UT Tyler (17-8, 13-3 LSC) on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 5:30 p.m. Then they will face UT Dallas (10-12, 7-8 LSC) on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m.
The Pioneers are currently 22-1, 16-0 in conference action, and 11-1 at home. TWU has not lost since Nov. 8 against Harding.
Last week, TWU faced Oklahoma Christian and then Cameron. Against Oklahoma Christian, the Pioneers claimed the win, 70-51. Then they followed it up with a 66-41 win over Cameron on Saturday.
UT Tyler last matched up with Oklahoma Christian and won 71-67. Before that, it played Cameron and also won, 67-45. UT Dallas, on the other hand, matched up with West Texas A&M, falling short, 61-68, and then faced Eastern New Mexico, falling, 51-69.

HISTORY: TWU is 8-4 all-time against UT Tyler. It has won the last two meetings against the Patriots. The Pioneers are 5-1 at home and 11-1 in conference action. The two teams last met Feb. 5, 2026, and the Pioneers claimed the win, 63-51. The Pioneers and Comets have yet to match up, as UTD just entered the same division.

A LOOK AT THE PATRIOTS: Most recently, UT Tyler claimed its 17th victory of the season, defeating Oklahoma Christian, 71-67. In the win, the Patriots outscored the Eagles in two quarters. They also topped the leader board in bench points, 19-17. The Patriots shot 40.4% from the field and 34.6% from 3-point range, forcing the Eagles into 21 turnovers. The game was tied with only 7:46 left in the quarter, and in the final 10 seconds, the Patriots made a trio of free throws to secure the win.

A LOOK AT THE COMETS: The Comets are in transition to Division II women's basketball, leading to a 10-12 overall record and a 7-8 mark in the LSC. The Comets are averaging 64.2 points per game, shooting 40.1% from the field and 28.5% from beyond the arc. Their opponents are scoring 61.6 points per game on 36.5% shooting and 24.8% from beyond the arc.
