KINGSVILLE, Texas (Sept. 22, 2026) – The Texas Woman's volleyball team continued Lone Star Conference play Tuesday night, falling to Texas A&M-Kingsville in three sets inside the Steinke Center.
The Pioneers (3-9, 0-2 LSC) battled the Javelinas (10-4, 3-0 LSC), but Texas A&M-Kingsville secured the 3-0 victory, 25-23, 25-19, 25-18.
TWU came out strong in the opening set, building an early advantage before the Javelinas worked their way back into the frame. The teams traded points throughout the set and were tied at 23 before Texas A&M-Kingsville scored the final two points to take the opener, 25-23.
The Pioneers recorded 13 kills and hit .200 in the first set, while the Javelinas finished with 14 kills and a .205 hitting percentage.
Texas A&M-Kingsville carried the momentum into the second set, hitting .286 while holding TWU to a .125 clip. The Javelinas pulled away to take the frame, 25-19, and move ahead 2-0 in the match.
In the third set, TWU recorded 12 kills, but TAMUK produced its strongest offensive set of the night with 18 kills and a .333 hitting percentage to close the match with a 25-18 win.
Mary Grace King led the Pioneers offensively with 11 kills and added 10 digs.
Benedite Anuman and
Kaysie Nabors each finished with six kills.
Lorena Gómez directed the TWU offense with 32 assists and added two service aces. Defensively,
Alyssa Rojo led the Pioneers with 18 digs.
TWU finished the match with 37 kills, 35 assists, 50 digs and four service aces.
The Javelinas totaled 44 kills and hit .274 for the match.

- Mary Grace King led the Pioneers offensively with 11 kills and added 10 digs to record a double-double.
- Benedite Anuman and Kaysie Nabors each added six kills. Anuman also finished with a team-high two blocks.
- Lorena Gómez directed the Pioneers offense with 32 assists while adding two service aces.
- Alyssa Rojo anchored the Pioneers defensively with a match-high 18 digs and added one service ace.
- King and Rojo each recorded a service ace as TWU finished with four on the night.
