2007-08: Was nothing short of dominant in her first season as a Pioneer...named to the 2007-2008 Division II Daktronics Women’s Basketball All-South Central Region second team...chosen as the 2007-08 LSC South Division Newcomer of the Year and earned a spot on 2007-08 All-LSC South Division first team...led TWU, and was fourth in the entire Lone Star Conference, by scoring 18.3 points per game...also pulled down a TWU team-best 8.9 rebounds per game, tying for the third-highest rebound total in the LSC...finished tops on the TWU roster in total points (495), field goals made (177), field goals attempted (374), field goal percentage (.473), free throws made (123), free throws attempted (166), offensive rebounds (70), defensive rebounds (169), total rebounds (239), blocks (22) and steals (49)...scored double-figures in 25 of the Pioneers’ 27 games played and totaled more than 20 points on eleven occasions...recorded a remarkable eleven double-doubles on the season...played perhaps her best game in a 64-62 TWU loss at Abilene Christian on Feb. 9, 2008, when she tallied 29 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and swiped six balls.
PRIOR TO TWU: Played the last two seasons at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock, a NCAA Division I institution that competes in the Sun Belt Conference… started all 31 of the Trojans’ games during their 2006-07 season…finished fourth on the UALR roster in scoring by totaling 8.5 points per game…additionally, she grabbed 5.2 rebounds per game, the second highest total on the Trojans’ squad…also finished second amongst all UALR players in blocks (27) and free throw percentage (.770)…as a freshman in 2005-06, she started 27 of the Trojans’ 28 games and posted team-leading totals in rebounds (7.2) and blocks per game (1.7)…she also averaged 13.3 points per game, the second most on the team…for her efforts, she was named the 2006 Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated in May 2005 from Flower Mound (Texas) High School…left high school holding the team records for steals and blocks in a season as well as most points in a single game (33)…as a senior she averaged 18.5 points and 10.8 rebounds per game to lead the Jaguars to the 2005 District 8-5A championship…her proficient play earned her spots on both the 2005 Dallas Morning News All-Area First Team and 2005 Fort Worth Star-Telegram Super Team…she was also chosen as the 2005 District 8-5A Most Valuable Player and the All-Denton County Morning News 2005-06 Player of the Year…as a junior, she was selected as the All-District 7-5A first-team and named to the All-Denton County second team…in the summer of 2004, she was picked for the BCI National All-American team and the Nike Memphis River City Classic All-Tournament team.
PERSONAL: Renee Amber Renz was born on July 31, 1987…the daughter of Mike and Connie Renz…majoring in kinesiology...hobbies include listening to music, going to shows, and hanging out with friends.
