Biography

AS A SOPHOMORE (2023)
Simmons was unable to compete in her sophomore campaign due to injury but was a part of the historic 2023 season in which the Pioneers had the best start in program history (5-0), placed fourth in the Lone Star Conference, and reached the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship for the first time since 2019. She was also named to the Fall 2023 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

AS A FRESHMAN (2022)
Simmons started in 14 of the 15 games she appeared in with 1,222 total minutes played. The sophomore midfielder shot the ball seven times and recorded a shot on goal in the Pioneers’ season finale matchup against St. Edward’s. Simmons was named to the Spring 2023 LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

PRIOR TO TWU
Avery Simmons graduated from Flower Mound High School, where she played soccer all four years. At Flower Mound, Simmons earned First Team All-District honors and helped lead her team to a 6A State Championship title. She also played club soccer for Sting Dallas Royal.
