Hello Pioneer Fans!

Welcome back to another exciting week of TWU Gymnastics. My name is Amy Hulbert and I am a senior History major. Like my fellow seniors have explained, this year is a very bittersweet one. I am so excited to have finally reached this point in my career, but I am heartbroken that it is almost over. This year’s team has already become so close and I am excited to see what this year holds in store for us.

We are into the full swing of gymnastics now, and I am very impressed with what I have seen. Already we have seen half sets on bars, new flights on beam, four 10.0 vaults, and putting passes on the floor.

Special congratulations to the freshmen who have really stepped up to match our expectations and are going to be a huge help to our team this season.

This past weekend, some of our team members got to attend the “Tour of Olympic Champions” that came to Dallas! We gave out 1,000 2009 schedule posters at this event. The posters were a big hit with the kids!

This week we have our 2nd annual TWU Gymnastics/Friends of Achievers Golf Tournament, a fundraiser for our team … (many dads came in from out of town to play which makes it extra special for our team). This weekend we will also be doing a community service project, helping out the Denton United Way by hosting a children’s carnival booth at the Peterbilt plant here in Denton.

Check back next week for more updates!
