Hello Pioneer Fans,
Welcome back to another exciting week of TWU gymnastics!
As we all know, the semester is quickly coming to an end and with that comes our annual Intrasquad meet. This year it will be on Friday, December 5 th, in Pioneer Hall at 7 p.m. With this fast approaching deadline and Thanksgiving Day only a week and a half away, everyone is working extra hard in the gym to accomplish their goals and get prepared for the competition.
Over the past few weeks we have been steadily removing the new set of goals from the walls that the coaches wrote out for everyone. These goals consist of new skills and combinations that we haven’t quite gotten yet. While we’ve done a great job so far, there are still a few goals to go. There has been a real push in the gym to get all the goals down by the Thanksgiving break especially now that Coach has offered a few incentives. If we achieve all our goals before the break we could get out of a morning lift and even get out of practice early the night before break starts!
One of the things the coaches did to motivate us was to give us a partner assignment day on Friday. This meant that we were all assigned a partner and a workout and once we both had completed that workout we were allowed to leave for the day. This is a great way to motivate everyone to work hard and efficiently because if you do, then you get to leave early! Also it helps having a partner who is just focused on you in case you need a little extra motivation.
I would like to congratulate my partner, Amanda Walker, for all her hard work this past week in the gym. Amanda was chosen by the coaches as this week’s Pioneer of the Week!!!
Friday was also an important day because that was the night the team went and visited coach’s house with our annual “snow project.” As expected, we completely outdid ourselves from the previous year. It looked like it had snowed just in his yard (pictured above)! Since we were up a little late on Friday, everyone used Saturday as a day to rest and relax so we could come in and have a great practice on Sunday.
That’s it for this week! Check next week’s post on how our final week before the break went!!!
Go Pioneers!
Through our eyes – you can see our hearts!
