Hello TWU Gymnastics Fans!

My name is Kristie Costa and I am a Junior Business Marketing Major. I am so excited to be part of what I know will be yet another successful gymnastics season for the Pioneers! Our team has already become so close, and is working really hard in the gym. I can’t wait to see and be part of the amazing things that this year is going to bring us.

The focus word chosen for this week was perseverance. In the gym, we like to make it a point to make each turn count and have a purpose. We were also presented with another challenge this week. Coach turned to the vault team and challenged us to land eight of our 10.0 vaults on our feet. The vault team accepted the challenge, and came out with great results. Coach had even stated that this was the first time in many years that we have had this many 10.0 vaults being done so early in the year. Way to go vaulters!

This week was also the first long week of doing all gymnastics. Each day that we have been in the gym has been full of hard work. The team has been working on more skills, and trying to get more numbers in. We are definitely starting to see a payoff from all of the hard work that we did in September. Friday was by far our best practice, where we had all four events lined up for that day. New things were being done on every event including dismounts on beam and skill routines on floor! I really felt like it was the best practice we could have had to end our first week long week of gymnastics. I am so proud of the work that is being put in and out of the gym every single day!

Some of the girls even got together the next day to enjoy a fun-filled day at the Texas State Fair!

Get ready for some more great gymnastics, and look for TWU Gymnastics at the UNT homecoming parade soon!

Thank you for all of the support that you give us!

Dream. Desire. Vision. We are ONE.
