Oct. 26, 2009 from senior Michelle Graves
Hello,
I am senior Michelle Graves, back to update you on the TWU gymnastics team.
Wow. October is already over and the team is starting to realize that the season is just around the corner. Although we have been feeling a little tired from the demands in the gym as well as in school, we have all been pushing each other to keep reaching our goals. Every day new goals are taken down and the bar is raised just a little bit. We have been continuing to do full sets on floor and many of us have been moving our tumbling passes down to the actual floor as well! All the other events are coming together and last Monday we even had the top six show their routines on beam!
Tuesdays are always a little bit tougher for us because it is our third practice in a row and we are all pretty tired, so we usually like to incorporate some new ways to keep each other pumped up and excited. This Tuesday Coach came in and surprised us with a little challenge and had us pick a number from 1-10. As a team, we chose number one, for obvious reasons, and Coach later told us that the number we picked was the number of goals we had to make for practice to be over. Our energy level immediately went up and we were ready to rock our practice and even got the goal done in the first 40 minutes of practice! It was nice because we were able to leave early and catch up on some homework or simply rest our bodies. Thank you, Coach!
It has been such a great week and we are continuing to push ourselves and make each day in the gym count. Thank you for all your support! Keep checking for updates on our progress towards winning our tenth USAG Collegiate National Championship, at home!
1-2-3 CHOJ!
