What a GREAT week in the gym!!! This week’s focus word was passionate and from our workouts this week, you can definitely see the passion in this team!

Sunday the 8th was our “leotard only” day, and was also the start of our “mini intrasquad.” Vault and Beam teams were put in a mock meet situation and showed their routines to the gym for the first time this year! I am so proud of these girls; in the past month they have made so much progress putting their routines together, unifying as a team, and working on consistency! It is so nice to see the hard work from September and October start to pay off! We ended the workout with three women tumbling, an “old school” tradition of TWU. It was so nice to have the whole team tumble together and gauge our progress as a floor team.

One of our goals this week was to get more individual goals accomplished than the coach’s put up for us. Every day we set a goal number to reach, how many we could get taken down, and most days we met these! New skills and new consistency goals were seen in the gym right and left. It was nice to see this team working together to reach individual goals.

Morning lifts and circuit continue to go well. This week was heavy weight light sets, so it was nice to cut down on the numbers and increase the intensity. Next week we are starting a new set of lifts so we’re excited to embark on a new morning adventure!

Thursday we came into the gym to find new PINK goals being put up on the events! The coaches have definitely raised their expectations for us, and in turn, we have raised the expectations of each other. We know that every day in the gym we are making this good team into a GREAT team, which will sky rocket when season hits!

Friday practices are so nice. We are able to come in and spend time focusing on gymnastics without school or other distractions. This Friday was a FUN practice! All the girls were having a great time, working hard and getting some big skills going!

Outside the gym, we have all been spending a lot of time studying and staying caught up with our schoolwork. The team is really working hard to keep our grades up and working with one another to keep all of us accountable.

I am very excited for the hard work and progress we have made together these past couple weeks! Our routines are starting to come together and it is amazing to see the small glimpses of what season has in store for us! I know we are all excited about the upcoming intrasquad on Dec. 5th and I feel this year we are more ready than ever! Go Pioneers!!!
