Hello Pioneer gymnastics fans!

We are ready to come back together from the MIC Championship to another week in the gym (only 10 practice days till we leave for Connecticut) as we prepare to defend our title as USAG Collegiate National Champions!! TWU was on spring break this week, so our team took full advantage of not having to go to class by working out during the day for most of the week. It also gave us a chance to do some catching up on school as well, and get ready for the last push of the semester.

We have enjoyed a great week of gymnastics as individuals, but most importantly as a team. We just returned from Coach Klein’s alma mater, Illinois State, where we competed for the conference championship! The team – especially the seniors - was excited to experience a new gym and environment that none of us had competed at in all of our four years at TWU. We had an awesome start to the meet, and tallied 48’s and above on floor, vault, and bars! Floor was a great event for us to start to use all our adrenaline at the beginning, then vault turned out to be a great success as well, and we had some big vaults and some great scores! Bars was the next event, and we had standout performances by Rashonda and Brista, who won the bar title! (Yeah, senior!) We then had a bye, and then competed beam. We didn’t perform to the best of our ability on our last event, but there were a few standout performances by Caroline, Kristie, and Tonya.

Our team is ready to rock when we get back into the gym this week, and excited for what the coaches have planned for our workouts since we have two weeks until we leave for nationals! Be sure to check back and see what we’ve done to prepare and how we’re doing! Thanks for all your support, as always!
