Welcome Back, Pioneer fans!

Since we had a two week break from competition, our Coaches decided to keep us on our toes and give us a more traditional workout style; we stepped back and took a break from the gymnastics side of things and focused on conditioning and training. On Monday we had a surprise conditioning day on the soccer field! The Coaches created a really fun and challenging circuit. We even did some entertaining sprint sets uphill! It was a hard conditioning practice, but it was certainly a beneficial day for the Pioneers. We continued to train away from the gym and met up with partners for cardio sessions during the week as well.

We returned to the gym on Thursday - refocused and ready to work. For most of us the break was much needed to take care of those aches and pain in order to return with a refreshed mind and body to give one last push – we only have 2 weeks left! As upperclassmen we always joke about how fast the year goes by – and right now without doubt we can feel it! This year is coming to a close very soon and with the end of the season and the USAG National Championship around the corner, we as Pioneers are going to give our full hearts and soul into the short time we have left together this season. I have full confidence in this team; we will leave proud of our accomplishments knowing that we gave it our all.

Next week we have several focus event practices and even a practice meet! We will be working on fine tuning our routines and preparing for the 2009 USAG National Championships being hosted by Southern Connecticut State University. Wish us luck as we represent TWU Gymnastics and Texas with pride!

Check back next week for more exciting Pioneer news.
