Apr. 10, 2009 from senior Brista Michael - Day 4 of the 2009 USAG National Championships

Hello Pioneer fans,

Tonight did not end up the way we wanted, to say the least. Even though we had an unexpected finish, there were some GREAT things that happened this evening.

We started out on floor. There were some unforgettable performances that showed what we had been working for all year. All six competitors made their routines and set the stage for the rest of the meet.

Vault was equally as amazing. There were some big hits and an unforgettable vault by my fellow senior, Brittany Parker. Coach has been using the analogy all weekend of a rocket being launched into space. After vault, the rocket was rising and getting closer to the goal of outer space!

Bars went pretty well. We had 5 solid routines and 5 stuck dismounts that kept the confidence going.

Beam was the final rotation and the last piece to the puzzle. After a couple of uncharacteristic falls and wobbles, the entire team was surprised and not sure what to expect.

Looking back on what this team has experienced over the year, creating memories, laughing together, crying together, countless hours of practice, and the priceless experiences, this is a team that we will never forget. Tomorrow is another day and I’m confident we will see some outstanding individual performances!!!

I am proud to be a Pioneer and a senior on this special team.
