Welcome back, Pioneer fans!
The past couple weeks have been very eventful. We have been working very hard in the gym to try and prove that we are more than just a good team, but that we can be GREAT!
Our hard work paid off on February 27th in our dual meet against Wisconsin- Stout. We started off on vault where Marcella Fallon scored a 9.750 and won. All the energy was carried over to bars, where we had one fall, but because we had each other’s back, we did not have to count it! Our third event was beam, an event that has not been our strongest throughout the season. However on Saturday, each gymnast proved they are great and finally showed everyone how hard they had been working! Floor was our last event and we were just able to have fun and give the crowd a show. Overall, every person on our team worked together to be behind one another and because of this we were able to post a season-high score of 193.625! Great job, ladies!
Last week in the gym has been more of a rest week because we did not have a competition on the weekend so it was really nice. A lot of us were able to focus on school and try to get ahead in our work. However, just because it was a rest week did not mean we let up on the intensity. We all worked really hard on focusing on every landing on all the events, and cast handstands on bars, which can mean a lot when Nationals rolls around. Coach gave us Friday and Saturday off from practice, which was so nice, because now our bodies and mind can have a break before shining again in California against UC Davis and Sacramento State and Cal Berkley!
This week, we will continue to work hard each day in the gym in order to put the finishing touches on every routine before we leave for California!
We will update you on the upcoming weekend meets in the next Pioneer Post!
Go Pioneers!
