Hello Pioneer fans! Welcome to the beginning of the 2010 nationals festivities. Today, Wednesday was the first day of official national’s activities. All of the teams have arrived here in Denton now in order to start the competition.

Today we had the Chancellors brunch. All the gymnasts get dressed up and get together as an official welcome from the school and USAG. I must say the TWU team looked fabulous! It is always fun to get dressed up in something other than spandex once in awhile. We heard many speeches, but we were most excited about our keynote speaker, Jaycie Phelps. Jaycie recounted her experience at the 96 Olympics as a member of the magnificent seven. This really fired us up to go compete. It was the perfect way to start off the competition.

Today was Wednesday which is our off day from the gym. We all spent the day getting ready and doing normal stuff. The coaches gave us the day off from physically doing gymnastics to keep our routine as normal as we can. We did gather to have a meeting and do some light stretching. It was nice to get together one last time before we compete.

The mood of the team is…… we are ready! We know that we have trained hard and prepared to the best of our abilities. We are so excited to be hosting this championship and the possibility of ten in ten. We cannot wait to compete tomorrow and show how hard we have worked. All of the morning workouts, hours of practice and lessons learned come together for this weekend. We are ready, we are fired up and we are one.
