First off, we’d like to thank our fans for all of your amazing support throughout this whole weekend. Having the National Championship in your hometown is one thing, but to have an entire town behind you is another. It is one of the most incredible feelings in the world, and we can’t thank you enough.
As you know, we didn’t quite get the sweet ending that we were hoping for, but we have many things to be thankful for. We had a great start on vault which gave us the confidence to get us to bars. On bars, we continued rocking the house with precision and heart. This brought us to beam. Beam didn’t go as desired, but we fought hard until the end, and headed to floor on a mission. The floor team shined and brought everyone in Pioneer Hall to their feet. Hearing the crowd and feeling the energy from them is something that our team will never forget.
We gave it our all and competed with our eyes, heart, and mind. We are proud of what we accomplished last night and throughout the entire year. We walked out of Pioneer Hall with our heads held high and no regrets. We made memories that will not only last the rest of the weekend, but the rest of our lifetime. This team has a lot to be proud of and we carried on the tradition in true Pioneer style. With class, heart, and unending love for each other.
On behalf of the 2010 Gymnastics team, we would also like to thank the Denton Sports Commission, TWU, and all of the great staff and volunteers for putting on the best National Championship meet that we have ever been to. And to you fans, whom we couldn’t have made it through the season without, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
