October 9, 2011 from freshman Cailee Ellsworth

Hey, everyone! My name is Cailee Ellsworth. I am a freshman here at the wonderful place of TWU. I am a Kinesiology major and I’m minoring in sports nutrition. I would like to become a physical therapist one day or have the opportunity to work with special education kids and athletes.

Being a freshman and walking into a brand new chapter of my life has truly been such an amazing experience so far, and this is just the beginning. I love all of my new teammates and coaching staff. This has definitely become my second family and my new home for the next four years.

Being here for almost two months now and already seeing the talent that is on the team, I know it’s going to be an awesome year! As a team we need to focus on the little things and we will be on top of our game this season!

This week in the gym was a lot of fun just like every other week, starting with a great Sunday night practice. The cheering from Sunday stayed with us all week. Tuesday and Thursday started early with our intense lifting at 6 a.m. Woo hoo! Getting the muscles bigger! Then we were all excited for Friday. PICTURE DAY!!! As a team we met at the Square in downtown Denton and took tons and tons of pictures. We had some brave ninjas up in the trees and others posing in the street. As for our individual pictures we headed back to the gym to get our DIVA on for an hour and then it was camera time! We had an absolute blast taking hundreds of pictures with each other. After pictures we all spent the rest of the day on our Team Retreat. We spent some great quality time together as a team and making our goals for this year and planning how we will manage to get there. Then we finished the retreat with a great inspiring movie and a fabulous dinner cooked by our very own Coach Lisa Bowerman! Wonderful ending to our week.

Stay tuned for more Pioneer Posts!
