The Official Website of the Texas Woman's University Pioneers
Sept. 26, 2011 from senior Chaynade Knowles
Hey pioneer fans welcome back to another great week. My name is Chaynade Knowles. I am a senior this year! Woo hoo oh how time flies! I am a Kinesiology Major, on the track to Physical Therapy, with a minor in Psychology. I was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, and was raised in British Columbia. I love Canada. It is so beautiful and I suggest that everyone visits at some time in their life, but if I were to be living somewhere other then there I would have never thought of Texas, and yet I am so happy to have been able to spend my undergraduate years here with my team and at this school.
This past week in the gym has been great, and our team is coming along smoothly. Each of our coaches has a set game plan, and it’s all about the little things right now. Our goal is to decrease the small mistakes, and take out those little tenths that make a large difference.
On vault, Josh and Jen are tightening up our entries, while on floor LP has us perfecting our leaps and dance as well as flying high on our tumbling passes. On bars the form, handstands, and arms are improving. And finally on beam, our Commander Lisa. B has them baming their flights. We are getting stronger and more confident each practice. The energy and drive to improve is amazing. I am very excited to get started on routines and showcase our hard work at Intrasquad December 4th!!
P.S. A little forecast… PICTURE DAY…is this Friday and everyone knows how much gymnasts love to have their pictures taken.
Hope everyone has a great week!
