Biography

AS A FRESHMAN (2025)
Lafontan shone bright in her first year with the Pioneers. At the 2025 Collegiate Nationals, she received the All-Collegiate Award, and she was named a USA Artistic Swimming All-America, earning honorary honors as an international student-athlete. In the Pioneers' first meet of the season at UCLA, she placed third in Collegiate A Figures. She also placed second in solo. Then, she came in first in duet with Lisa Kizis and first in trio with Kizis and Maya Schwickert. Finally, as a member of Team Minerva, she placed first to help lead the team to the season-opening win at UCLA. Against UW and The Ohio State in the second meet of the season, Lafontan took fourth in solo, eighth in duet, fourth in trio and fourth in team. At her first MPSF Championships, she came in third in solo, fifth in trio and fifth in team to help guide TWU to a third place finish at the MPSF Championships. Then, Lafontan and the Pioneers took first place for the first time in program history at the 2025 South Regional Championship. At the meet, Lafontan took home third in solo, first in trio and second in team. In the final meet of the season, the Pioneers finished fourth at Collegiate Nationals. While there, Lafontan took fifth in solo, fifth in trio and seventh in team. 

PRIOR TO TWU

From France, Eva Lafontan attended Lycée Bellevue for high school. She swam for Colomiers Nat’Synchro and the French National Team. Her grandmother Gabrielle Meyer competed for the French Olympic Team as a track and field athlete at the 1968 Mexico Olympic Games.
