Biography
AS A FRESHMAN (2024)
Bernardes swam a duet with Ada Monteys Vinardell on Feb. 12 against The Ohio State University, anf the duet placed third. She also swam team with Ada Monteys Vinardell, Maria Fernandez Montenegro-Serrano, Eva Fernandez Monetenegro-Serrano, Anaya Kashikar, Laura Klein Paredes and Haiden Long -- the team placed sixth at the MPSF Championships on Feb. 19. Team finished third overall - highest finish in program history - at the USA Collegiate National Championship.
PRIOR TO TWU
Bernardes has been swimming for 11 years and competing nationally since 2015 as a member of M Synchro, the artistic swimming club where Bernardes swam until 2022. The sophomore started coaching and performing for the prestigious company 'Aqualillies' that same year. In 2022, Bernardes placed fifth in the solo category at the Junior Olympics Championships in Gainesville, Flo. The native from Westfield, N.J. is a versatile swimmer who can and enjoys swimming all the events within the artistic swimming discipline. She transferred to TWU in Spring 2024, after previously attending Union County College.
