AS A FRESHMAN (2025)
In her first season with the Pioneers, Tromp helped guide the Pioneers to a historical first South Regional Title. The Pioneer started off the season with a win over UCLA. Then, at the 2025 MPSF Championships, they placed third. At the Championships, Tromp placed seventh in Collegiate B Figures. She also swam with Team Minerva and placed fifth. After the MPSF Championships, Tromp was named to the All-MPSF Second Team. Then, the Pioneers placed fourth at Collegiate Nationals. In A Elements, Tromp finished with a 14th place finish. Additionally, she swam with Team Minerva, which placed seventh. 

PRIOR TO TWU
From Santa Cruz, Aruba, Melanie Tromp joined the Pioneers after swimming with Barracudas Artistic Swimming for her club career. In 2024, Barracudas Artistic Swimming was named the 2024 Aruba's Team of the Year. Tromp attended Colegio Arubano for high school. She is also passionate about community service. During the year, Tromp participates in a variety of commuity service opportunities, such as collecting can goods and helping young kids with their artistic swimming skills. Additionally, back home in Aruba every year, her family proudly participates in the Aruban Children's Carnival, organizing a group that invites children to join in and celebrate Aruba's most cherished cultural event.
