Marisa Martin became the second head coach in Pioneer Pride Dance Team program history on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.
In her second year as head coach for the Pioneer Pride Dance Team, Marisa Martin led TWU to a third place finish in Spirit Rally at the 2024 National Dance Alliance (NDA) College Nationals. During the 2023-24 season, the Pioneers recorded two Championship titles under Martin at the American Drill/Dance Team Competition at the University of North Texas and the Union Virtual College Classic.
Martin graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Dance. While attending Texas Tech, Martin competed on the Texas Tech Pom Squad and helped lead the team to four NDA National Championships.
Martin served as the assistant coach for the University of North Texas Dance Team for one year. In this role, Martin helped recruit student-athletes, coordinate dance appearances and organize practices and performances.
Martin has also worked on the National Dance Alliance Staff since 2017. With NDA, Martin taught and choreographed for high school and college teams at NDA dance camps. She instructed nationally ranked collegiate dance teams and mentored dancers.
More specifically, Martin boasts expertise in choreographing and instructing pom, jazz, hip-hop and contemporary.
Since 2019, Martin has served as a Varsity EnVision Choreographer, traveling around the country to create award-winning routines for high school and collegiate dance programs. This past year she taught at All Out Dance Academy in Prosper, TX as a dance team prep instructor.
