Biography

AS A JUNIOR (2020)
Played in and started all 22 games before the season ended due to the COVID-19 pandemic... hit .324 with two RBIs... stole a pair of bases... five multi-hit games... went 4-for-4 in a pair of games, first against UT Tyler and later against Ottawa... two three-hit games, both coming against No. 23 Arkansas Tech.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2019)
Chosen by the TWU Sports Medicine staff as the recipient of the Golden Cast Award for her diligence during rehabilitation from an injury... saw action in 39 games, drawing the start in 36... hit .274 on the season... seven multi-hit games, with a season-best three hits on two separate occasions; first against Texas A&M-Kingsville and then against UT Permian Basin... 3-for-4 in stolen bases on the season.   

AS A FRESHMAN (2018)
Played in and started 41 games... hit .224 on the season with five RBIs... 6-for-6 in stolen bases... four multi-hit games... hit her lone longball of the season as part of a 2-for-3 effort at Western New Mexico... went 5-for-13 with four RBIs in that same series... a member of the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Avery graduated from Krum High School in 2017. During her high school career, she was awarded District 9-4A First Team All-District in 2016-2017, Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 4A First Team All-State in 2016-2017, Collin Street Bakery TSWA Class 4-A First Team All-State in 2016-2017, UIL Class 4A First Team All-State in 2016-2017, and UIL Class 4A First Team All-State in 2016-2017. Received First Team All-Academic in 2016-2017, 2015-2016, amd 2014-2015, District 5-6A First Team All-District in 2015-2016, District 5-6A Honorable Mention in 2014-2015, and District 5-4A Honorable Mention in 2013-2014. Helped lead her team to 4A State Champions in 2016-2017, District Champions in 2016-2017, Bi-District Champions in 2016-2017, 2015-2016, 2014-2015, and 2013-2014, Area Champions in 2016-2017, 2014-2015, and 2013-2014, Regional Champions in 2016-2017, and Regional Quarter Finalist in 2014-2015 and 2013-2014. Awarded ASA 16U Gold Nationals Qualifier- 1st Place in 2015, VTD Senior Nationals- 2nd Place in 2014, VTD World Series Champions in 2013, and VTD World Series Co-MVP in 2013.
