Biography

2008: Spent the bulk of her sophomore season patrolling left field for the Pioneers…made 42 starts in left, five starts in center, and seven at designated player…her .298 batting average was the fifth-best on the team…led all TWU players with 12 doubles…second on the squad with 21 runs batted in…also totaled 50 hits, 18 runs, and 64 total bases…had 13 two-hit games and 15 multiple hit games to her credit…knocked in two runs in a game on four occasions…recorded a 12-game hitting streak – the second-longest of the season for TWU – from Mar. 13-Apr. 2…named the Lone Star Conference (LSC) South Division Hitter of the Week for the week of Mar. 17-24, 2008 after going 4-6 with four runs scored, two runs batted in, and two doubles in the Pioneers’ two wins over Incarnate Word and East Central…fielding percentage was a solid .945…one of two TWU players (Alli Packer was the other) named to the LSC All-Academic team.

2007:  Was the primary designated hitter for the Pioneers during her freshman season…tied for the team lead with a .276 batting average by banging out 48 hits in 174 at bats…second on the team with two triples and tied for second on the club with 10 doubles…third on the club in hits and total bases (64)…scored 22 and batted in 18 runs…her nine-game hitting streak from Feb.9-17 was the longest by any Pioneer player in 2007…recorded 10 multiple-hit games and one multiple-RBI game…top game of the season was on February 11 when she had three hits (two doubles), scored three runs, and knocked in another in an 8-5 loss to St. Edward’s University. 

HIGH SCHOOL:
 Callahan was a three-year (2004-06) softball letterwinner at Bowie High School in Austin, Texas …as a sophomore in 2004, she helped the Bulldogs to the District 16-5A championship and was named to the All-District 16-5A second team...in 2005 and 2006, her junior and senior seasons, she earned a spot the All-District 16-5A first team...a member of the National Honor Society (with a 3.92 GPA) at Bowie, she was also voted to the 2004, 2005, and 2006 Academic All-District 16-5A softball team...played club softball with the Austin Storm team.

PERSONAL:  A kinesiology major, she enjoys reading, coloring, playing solitaire, and coaching little league in her time away from the field...the daughter of Ken and Melanie Callahan...Callahan is also active in both the Riverbend Church Youth Ministry (in Austin, Texas) and Young Life.
