Tami Huff joined the Pioneers' coaching staff in 2023. She helped guide the Pioneers to thier historical third place finish in 2023 at US Collegiate Nationals. Huff joins the Pioneers with over 15 years of artistic swimming coaching experience. She began her coaching career as an Assistant Coach with the Coralytes of Southern California, where she coached novice and age group athletes from ages six to 18 years old. She assisted with land conditioning, stroke development, kick refinement, figures, routines and overall artistic swimming skills.
She took a break from coaching before returning to the pool in 2006 to serve as an Assistant Swim Coach with the First Colony Swim Team in Houston, Texas, helping young athletes develop better stroke technique and kick refinement.
Then, in 2007, she returned to coaching artistic swimming. In 2007, she founded the First Colony SynchroStars in Houston, Texas and served as a Head Coach until 2018. As the founder, she worked to establish a competitive artistic swimming program for athletes from six years old to 18 years old. She developed the training programs, recruited coaches and athletes, coached land conditioning and all elements of artistic swimming. Additionally, she also choreographed routines, cut music, designed costumes and also coordinated travel and meet needs.
During her tenure with the SynchroStars, Huff led the team to three Regional Championships. She also helped produce an Age Group National Medalist, Junior and Senior National Finalists and a US National Team member.
Huff has also performed in seven different professional swimming shows across the world, including sold out shows like the Aquacade, which was a nine month performance in New Orleans and a two year performance in Cypress Gardens, Fla.
