A tough pitcher to face, Karen Lundstedt has built up her confidence the last two years... she finished 1997 with a winning record and recorded the Pioneers' only two saves... Coach Baker recruited her to play at Stephen F. Austin, but Baker joined TWU before Lundstedt's freshman year... prior to TWU, Lundstedt played at SFA for first-time head coach Ruth Wright... a 1995 graduate of Nimitz High School, Lundstedt lettered in softball, basketball, and volleyball... she earned 1st team all-district softball honors in 1994 as well as being named district Most Valuable Player, all-region, and all-area MVP... also her junior year, Nimitz reached the state quarterfinals... she played on the Irving Gamblers 16 and under ASA team, which placed second in the national tournament in 1992.
