Biography
2008: Continued to excel as the Pioneers starting centerfielder in her junior campaign…hit leadoff for TWU in all 56 games that she started…led the team in a multitude of offensive categories, including batting average (.348), on-base percentage (.434), runs (33), hits (62), triples (3), walks (26), stolen bases (42), steal attempts (50), plate appearances (207), at-bats (178), and multiple-hit games (17)…second on the squad in slugging percentage (.478), doubles (11), and total bases (85)…also hit two homeruns and drove in 16 runs…set a new TWU record by hitting safely in 18 consecutive games from Mar. 12 vs. UNT to Apr. 12 at ASU…had five three hit games…tied a school record with four hits in a single game in the Pioneers’ season opener Feb. 1 vs. Texas A&M-Kingsville…stole two bases in a game on 12 occasions…second amongst all Lone Star Conference (LSC) players in both stolen bases (42) and attempted steals (50)…also strong in the field as evidenced by her .956 fielding percentage and six assists…an All-LSC South Division second team choice…also tabbed for the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
2007: Had another standout season as the Pioneers’ starting centerfielder…led the team with 54 hits in 196 at bats…tied for the team lead with a .276 batting average…was also the team leader in runs scored (34), triples (8), total bases (75), stolen bases (31), and plate appearances (210)…second on the club in at bats (196), games played (58), and games started (57)…her 22 runs batted in were the third most on the TWU roster…was not caught stealing the entire season…second in the Lone Star Conference in triples and ranked third amongst all LSC players in stolen bases…tied with catcher Kaley Frye for the most multiple-hit games (15) by a TWU player…also had five multiple-RBI games…enjoyed a season-high six-game hitting streak from March 19-24…top individual effort of the season came in a 10-4 win over Texas Wesleyan on April 3 when she had three hits, scored three runs, knocked in one run and stole two bases…led all TWU outfielders in chances (76), putouts (67), and assists (7)…a second team choice to the 2007 All-Lone Star Conference team…found success in the classroom, earning a spot on the 2007 Lone Star Conference Commissioner’s honor roll.
2006: Enjoyed a stellar freshman season for the Pioneers...started 60 games, primarily in centerfield, and finished with 60 hits in 199 at bats for a .302 batting average...was second on the TWU roster in hits and third on the team in batting average...led the Pioneers with 34 stolen bases in 38 attempts...also had the second-most total bases (71) on the team...eight of her hits went for extra bases (five doubles and three triples)...piled up 15 multiple-hit games and seven multiple-steal games...15 walks were tied for second amongst all TWU players...named honorable mention All-Lone Star Conference and was recognized as the LSC Co-Freshman of the Year.
HIGH SCHOOL: Boone lettered in softball, volleyball and track and field at Keller High School… part of two state championship teams (2003 and 2005)…as a senior named to All-State tournament and All-District 5-5A teams…in 2004, she led District 5-5A in stolen bases with 29 while hitting at a .368 clip… played club softball with the Keller Rampage (1994-2003), Arlington Cobras (2003) and Texas Elite 18 Gold (2004)…member of the National Junior Honor Society…named an Academic All-American (2004).
PERSONAL: A Kinesiology major...the daughter of Donnie and Lesley Boone...spends her time away from softball camping, hunting, fishing, and riding horses.
