Conner Gurley

Connor Gurley joined the Texas Woman’s University basketball coaching staff in 2021. No stranger to the Lone Star Conference, Gurley adds knowledge and passion for the game to the Pioneers squad. 

In the 2023-24 season, Gurley assisted in leading the Pioneers to the NCAA Tournament South Central Regional Championship as a one seed for the first time in program history. The Pioneers finished with a program best 34-5 record, claiming LSC Regular Season and Tournament Championships, the South Central Regional Championship, and concluded the season as a National Championship Runner-Up.

During Gurley's first season with the Pioneers, he helped lead the team to their first NCAA Tournament victory, highest regional seeding in program history (four) and first win over a No. 1 in the nation team (Feb. 22, 2022 win over Texas A&M - Commerce). 

Previously an assistant coach at Angelo State University, Gurley has three degrees on his resume of achievements. 

In 2014, Gurley graduated from Blinn College - Brenham Campus with an Associate of Science degree. Then, in 2017, Gurley became an Arkansas State University alumnus, graduating with his Bachelor of General Studies. Most recently, he finished his Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction at Angelo State University in 2019, while serving as an Assistant Coach for the Rambelles for two years. 

Gurley enjoys the family aspect of the TWU Pioneers, because it reminds him of his large family. Gurley has three brothers, who are named in alphabetical order, A,B,C,D-- Austin, Brennon, Conner and Drew. 

Gurley currently lives in Aubrey, TX.
