Biography
AS A JUNIOR (2024-25)
In her first year with the Pioneers, Elliott helped lead the Pioneers to another historical season. During the 2024-25 season, the Pioneers claimed their third straight LSC Regular Season Title and second straight LSC Tournament Title. Throughout the season, TWU was ranked No. 1 in the nation. They claimed the No. 1 seed in the South Central Region for the second straight and hosted the South Central Regional Tournament in Denton for the second straight season. The Pioneers season came to a close in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. They ended the season with the fewest losses in program history (2), most consecutive wins in a season with 27. They broke the program record for free throw percentage in a season, shooting 78% from the charity stripe, which broke the former record of 77.6% set last season. The Pioneers also broke the record for lowest opponent field goal percentage in season, holding teams to just 34.8% throughout the season – breaking the former record of 35.3% which was set during the 2015-16 season. Elliott appeared in 35 games for the Pioneers, averaging 12.7 minutes per game. On 139 attempts, she averaged 51.8% from the field. Elliott also went 71.7% from the charity stripe. She scored 177 total points, averaging 5.1 points per game. She grabbed 145 total rebounds to average 4.1 per game. Elliott closed the season with 13 assists, 15 steals and 13 blocks. She matched her career high of three blocks in a game at Sul Ross State on Dec. 19, 2024. She took a career high 10 field goal attempts at St. Mary's on Feb. 8, and she hit a career high six free throws against Oklahoma Christian on Jan. 30. Elliott was named to the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
PRIOR TO TWU
Gabby Elliot, from San Antonio, Texas, played high school basketball at Smithson Valley High School. She was a four-time UIL All-District First Team selection. During her senior season, she was also named Defensive Player of the Year in her district. As a four year starter and two year captain, Elliot scored over 1,300 points. Additionally, she broke Smithson Valley's single game, single season, career scoring, career rebounds, blocked shots in a season and single-game rebound record. In a game, she scored 41 points. Elliot, a junior in eligibility, started out her collegiate career at St. Mary's University, where she was named the LSC Freshman of the Year. During her freshman season, she scored a season high 22 points and grabbed a season high 15 rebounds. On the season, she averaged 13 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game. Most recently, Elliot played basketball at UT Tyler. During her sophomore season, she scored double-digits five times and averaged 5.1 points per game. On Nov. 11, she scored a season high 20 points. She also averaged 4.3 rebounds, grabbing a season high 15 rebounds on Jan. 11. Over the course of the season, she also dished out a season high four assists and grabbed a season high four steals. Elliot also shot 45% from the field on the season. Elliot also celebrated success in the classroom throughout her career. In high school, Elliot was a two-time All-Academic First Team selection. She has also been named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll. She plans to pursue a major in kinesiology at TWU.
